General English is a common subject for all students. English as a Core subject (Specialization in English Literature) is also offered to Bachelor of Arts students.
Literary studies in English have distinct advantages in the age we live in. It not only improves one's reading critical thinking skills, but also widens one's worldview and EQ. Pragmatically, English helps one pursue several career options – from the traditional ones such as education and teaching jobs to the modern day journalism, content writing, translation, hospitality and tourism, communication specialist, copy writing and editing and material developer. What is B.A.in English all about?
B.A in English is an undergraduate degree in English Literature.It is termed a Literature degree because that is what you study. The aim of the course is to develop a keen sense of awareness of your surroundings through works of literature. As a student of literature, you will be taught to understand how a particular piece of work is a reflection of the sociological, historical, political, cultural, and even the psychological ethos of its time.
